This is an early start to the year and the weather looks to be quite warm though there is the possibility of showers on both Saturday and Sunday. So come prepared for everything. A Packing List, as attached, gives some good informaiton on what you might bring for a weekend at an endurance ride to provide for the needs of both rider and horse.

A Horse Health Declaration must be provided for all horses attending the event. You will be offered the opportunity to download this form when you nominate but copy also included here. Note that you must provide a record of your horse's temperature being taken for at least 3 days before you travel and then on travel day. You should do temperatures for your horse up the the day of pre-ride vetting.

Stirlling's Crossing Equestrian Complex is a great ride base with great amenities and great access to forest tracks. Situated only 9 kms from Imbil, you have easy access to all services - supermarket, cafes, pub, produce store, post office, fuel.

At ride base you will have to set up a yard for your horse that complies with AERA rule 54.2 - a good yard is a significant risk management requirement. The preferred method of horse containment are metal yards, substantially fixed to a solid object such as a horse float, truck or permanent fence or appropriately pegged into the ground. Alternatively, electric fencing is permitted, but shall as a minimum, have 2 strands of tape, preferably white and a minimum of 1cm wide, with the top tape to be 1.2 to 1.4 metres above the ground. The posts used should be of substantial material (for example, steel pickets) and installed so that the tape does not sag. The fence shall be energized at all times the horse is in the yard.

The video on nominations has been superceded by the AERA Online system but all good informaton still.
